There is no reason to hide behind crow’s feet, smile lines, frown lines, and other wrinkles. BOTOX ® Cosmetic, a purified chemical that is injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, can help restore your youthful appearance quickly, safely, and efficiently. Performed in our Houston office, this procedure has no downtime. The effects of BOTOX ® injections typically last between 3-5 months and can be repeated as necessary.

How BOTOX Works

As we age, we all begin to experience the formation of wrinkles. These wrinkles can appear throughout the skin but are often most noticeable on the face. BOTOX is a temporary muscle relaxer that blocks nerve signals and muscle contractions. This helps improve wrinkles and slow the appearance of new ones. BOTOX is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A. This is injected into the areas around the wrinkles to soften and reduce their appearance. Typically, 3-5 injections treat the desired area, but this can vary depending on the wrinkles present.

Benefits of BOTOX

BOTOX can treat the lines and wrinkles that may appear throughout the face. This includes the frown lines between the brows, smile lines, and crow’s feet, also known as the wrinkles around the eyes. Because this is a minimally invasive procedure, there is no downtime or recovery. Your results will be visible within a few days after treatment. While the treatment is not permanent, it can be used again when needed.

A Lunchtime Procedure

While surgeries, laser treatments, or other facial procedures take hours to complete, BOTOX is known as a lunchtime procedure. This means a BOTOX treatment can be performed during your lunch break! Most BOTOX injection sessions take only 10-20 minutes to complete. This makes BOTOX a convenient treatment that can easily fit into your day. Future touch-ups or reapplications also will take the same amount of time, so you will never have to worry about not having time in your schedule.

Recovery After BOTOX

After your BOTOX treatment, you will be able to resume most regular activities. You will want to avoid rubbing or massaging the areas for a few hours after the injections. You may experience some swelling, but this should only last a few days at most.
